We have a Catahoula named Nola and she's particular about where that cute little nub of her's gets to lay down. Specifically, she prefers soft, well cushioned places. The first day we brought her home, she was curled up on the couch in five minutes. So I made a quick cover that can hold two pillows so she had her own bed.
That bed has been improved on and restuffed a couple of times in the last year and a half. But in recent months she really needed a new blanket. I didn't want to completely scrap the original top I had made for this quilt and since it would match the cover on the dog bed it'd be perfect to refashion.
This was a pretty quick project - I pulled apart the quilt top to get the blocks I liked to make the top, used a whole yard cut for the back, sandwiched the layers with some batting and added a topstitch.
Little miss Nola has been slow to accept the new blanket. It's not as thick as her previous blanket and, even though it is on her well-stuffed bed, she'll only sleep on it if we tell her to. But then again, she'd rather be up on our bed lately. She's a very cute pup but we also call her "Pita" (pain in the ...).
